The Orthopaedic Therapy Clinic Inc. is pleased to announce that Juliette Woodruff, Registered Massage Therapist, and graduate of the Sutherland-Chan College has joined our professional team. With the addition of Juliette's expertise The Orthopaedic Therapy Clinic Inc. is now offering massage therapy five days a week.

She is particularly interseted in treating conditions such as 'runners knee', (iliotibial band friction syndrome), tendinitis, ligament strain, muscle strain and compartment syndromes.Juliette also brings abdominal massage, a new service, to The Orthopaedic Therapy Clinic Inc. Abdominal massage can be beneficial for respiratory conditions, scoliosis, lordosis, and other postural dysfunctions.

We are pleased to welcome Tim Davis, RMT to the Massage Therapy Team at The Orthopaedic Therapy Clinic Inc. Tim brings some exciting new therapeutic techniques to the OTC.

Tim graduated from Sutherland-Chan School of Massage and became a Registered Massage Therapist in Ontario in 2005 and has been a licensed Holistic Practitioner in Toronto since 2001. He has travelled the World to obtain certifications in several therapies but brings to the OTC a specialization in Craniosacral Therapy (CST) which he combines when needed with effective massage techniques. His introduction to CST occurred while studying at Sutherland-Chan and his interest has lead him to pursue advanced training levels as well as qualifying as a Teaching Assistant for CST courses. His previous personal and professional experience with CST has enabled him to postpone (hopefully indefinitely) surgical intervention both for himself and clients.

Craniosacral Therapy was developed in the early 1970s by Dr. John E. Upledger, an Osteopathic Surgeon in the United States. While performing a spinal cord surgery he became aware of a physiologic system he termed the Craniosacral System. It is with this system that Tim will assess a persons state of restriction, and Using a soft touch of no more than 5 grams of pressure (the weight of a nickel) to encourage the normal functioning of the central nervous system thereby having a healing effect on the body as a whole.

The techniques that Tim brings to the clinic are well suited to both acute and chronic conditions. If you wish to discuss this approach further or are unsure of whether these techniques might be beneficial for your condition please contact Tim or your physiotherapist at The Orthopaedic Therapy Clinic.
