Tim Davis, RMT
Tim graduated from Sutherland-Chan School of Massage and became a Registered Massage Therapist in Ontario in 2005 and has been a licensed Holistic Practitioner in Toronto since 2001. He has travelled the World to obtain certifications in several therapies but brings to the OTC a specialization in Craniosacral Therapy (CST) which he combines when needed with effective massage techniques. His introduction to CST occurred while studying at Sutherland-Chan and his interest has lead him to pursue advanced training levels as well as qualifying as a Teaching Assistant for CST courses. His previous personal and professional experience with CST has enabled him to postpone (hopefully indefinitely) surgical intervention both for himself and clients.
Craniosacral Therapy was developed in the early 1970s by Dr. John E. Upledger, an Osteopathic Surgeon in the United States. While performing a spinal cord surgery he became aware of a physiologic system he termed the Craniosacral System. It is with this system that Tim will assess a persons state of restriction, and Using a soft touch of no more than 5 grams of pressure (the weight of a nickel) to encourage the normal functioning of the central nervous system thereby having a healing effect on the body as a whole.
The techniques that Tim brings to the clinic are well suited to both acute and chronic conditions. If you wish to discuss this approach further or are unsure of whether these techniques might be beneficial for your condition please contact Tim or your physiotherapist at The Orthopaedic Therapy Clinic.

Anthony Aqui C.K., M.Sc.Kin., B.Sc.Kin., E-mail: aaqui@orthophysio.com
In our continuing effort to improve services and further integrate our approach to rehabilitation, we are pleased to announce that
Anthony Aqui, C.K., M.Sc.Kin., B.Sc.Kin., has joined our team and we are now offering in-house Kinesiology services.
Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo, and a Masters of Science degree in Kinesiology from Wilfrid Laurier University. Anthony’s Masters thesis investigated the interaction of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. His work was specifically directed at looking at how fatigue in the respiratory muscles affects the function of the cardiovascular system and limits exercise performance. He is recognized as a Certified Kinesiologist (CK) and is currently pursuing a designation as an Exercise Physiologist.
While completing his undergraduate and graduate degrees, Anthony gained extensive experience in exercise testing. He also took part in numerous research studies investigating the cellular mechanisms which cause muscle fatigue and injury, as well as the body’s systemic response to exercise. Anthony has decided to use his education and experience in exercise physiology to develop rehabilitative exercise programs for people with injuries to help reduce pain and improve function. Anthony believes everybody is unique and should take a proactive approach to understand how their body functions. Intuitively our body will tell us when we are not operating optimally; we just have to take the time to listen.
We are excited by the background and skills that Anthony brings to our clinic. This addition to our team will enhance our expertise in providing exercise physiology and physical training in the presence of injuries, as well as providing training where other health conditions are an issue. Having Anthony onsite will facilitate The Orthopaedic Therapy Clinic’s team approach by ensuring that your need for fitness is balanced with a view to injury prevention.
